It's JUNE, which means Pride, Juneteenth, parades, and parties! We hope you're having a great time so far, enjoying the festivities and staying safe.
It's been a couple of slow months at Tragos so our team's been trying to take it easy on mini vacays to Colombia, Alaska, & Las Vegas. We've also been keeping our spirits up by hosting in-person events (el próximo is in Houston, TX) and coming up with a new, and maybe final, expansion pack!
All will be revealed here so get comfy, get coffee (or a cocktail) and stick around 😌
For this year's Pride, we wanted to bring you our current fave queer Latinx creatives, entrepreneurs and advocators!
Adelita's Apparel - Adelita’s began with the goal of bringing representation to the undocumented Latinx community. Today 100% of sales from selected items go towards DACA applications. Sisters Atziri and Yajahira Peña also use their platform to normalize talking about being undocumented and queer.
Stand Out (2022) - This Netflix stand-up comedy special will make sure the jajaja's don't stop! Matteo Lane (Mexican descent) is part of the line up with other big names like Wanda Sykes, Trixie Mattel and Bob The Drag Queen. Watch here!
Noche De Pendejadas- Alannized is a Mexican-American Youtuber and podcaster who invites Latinx friends and creators to literally chismear about anything and everything! Listen to his latest episode here.
Latino Equality Alliance (LEA) - LEA is a non-profit advocating for the equity, safety, and wellness of the Latinx LTGBQ+ community. Based in LA, they offer sponsorships, legal help, fundraisers and events, and more for queer Latinx. Find out more.
Is your company taking off this Monday? If so, that's right!! 2022 marks the second year Juneteenth is officially a federal holiday, even though it's been celebrated since 1865 in some parts of the US. It took us long enough to acknowledge and commemorate the Black Independence Day holiday nationwide.
For anyone taking the day off, plan something informative and relaxing for the long weekend. Here are some suggestions.
We hosted our third 2022 event, Tragos and Tacos, this past week in Queens, NY at the delicious Cream Ridgewood! Mira que cute our fam looks 👆🏼
More intimate and with the best birria empanadas ever (and yes tacos), we loved playing games and sipping with our network. The best part? You never leave a game of Tragos with a stranger without becoming their friend at the end ✨More pics and details of the event here.
Keep an eye out because we’re making moves! Our next event will be on July 14th in Houston, TX! Event details coming soon 🙌🏽
So, we’ll be honest. Working at Tragos doesn’t fully pay any of our bills and girls gotta eat! With post-Covid stresses on the business, we may pause Tragos for some time till we can scale it back up.
But, we didn't want to just leave our fans like that, ¡como si nada! We’ve been brainstorming our last game for a long time and want this last pack to represent our mission of uniting our community. So, if you’d love to do us the honors of pitching a card YOU would want to see in the final Tragos expansion, add it below and we’ll consider it for the next game.
Your entry will also enter you in a giveaway and will be given credit on the card itself.
